After a knockoff Apple battery replacement for my 2-year-old iPhone XS burned my hand last week, I decided to upgrade to the new 12 Pro Max.
Sure, it has 3 cameras, 5G, and a cool blue color; but let’s be honest, I just wanted a big screen.
With a large phone, a phone grip is essential, unless you like your phone falling on your face; in which case, do you, BooBoo.
I’ve used the PopSockets grips for years and went on their website to order a new one when I discovered this nifty little gadget:
It’s a PopSocket, which is a phone stand/grip with the added innovation of holding my AirPods!
I’ll be honest, I’ve been a little judgmental about some of the products PopSockets has come up with over the past few years; more specifically, their cup sleeve with a PopSocket grip, their PopSocket grip that doubles as a lip balm, and then there’s that PopSocket with a vanity mirror.
But a PopSocket that holds the AirPods I’m always misplacing? Sign me up!
Green is my favorite color so of course, I ordered it in green. I was surprised that it matches my glasses perfectly.
I will say that I should’ve read the description better, as I thought a charging case was included. Given that the standard PopSockets run $9.99+, I probably should’ve reasoned that the $14 that I paid for this was too good to be true if a charger was included...
Anyway, this thing slips over your existing AirPods charging case, but it’s not a case by itself.
When I ordered online, they threw in a PopChain, which enables me to carry the AirPods on my keychain if needed.
I didn’t think I’d actually utilize the PopChain but it came in handy when I got in the car and wanted to use the phone mount suctioned to the dashboard.
You simply twist the gadget and it pops off, then you twist it onto the keychain or vice versa. Easy.
This is a nifty product and I’m very happy with it.
